Declan Rice Crosses from dead balls and set-plays were dangerous. Was given room to roam in left midfield only to be offside as the pass came with a chance to score. Given a deserved substitution around the 60-minute point. 6

Jude Bellingham Played in an advanced role down the right and contributed with defensive duties. Demonstrated flashes of quality and scuffed a shot wide. Substituted towards the end by Rogers, his rival, following a yellow card. Seven

Jarrod Bowen Was presented with England’s top opening in the opening period, his effort well saved from the Albanian keeper. As a teammate holding position, he was forced to stretch the play down the right side although his balls from wide areas were inconsistent. Replaced late in the match. Six

The captain The difference-maker with his two more strikes for his country. The first a classic opportunist's goal and the second a classy finish with his head after peeling away away from the opposition. Now 32, he’s only getting better and England are strong contenders in future competitions when he's in the team. 8

The attacker Found it tough to influence play out wide. Had a presentable chance when set up by the midfielder yet the keeper made the save. His replacement produced a bigger an impact after coming on. 5
