The player, forty, signed a new contract with the LA team in the month of June and will become the first player to play across 23 distinct seasons.

The athlete has not taken part in preseason and was out for the defeats against the Golden State and the Phoenix recently because of the nerve issue.
The veteran is projected to sit out for every one of the five of the LA Lakers' games in October, which includes the season-opener against Golden State Warriors.
James, the league's top scorer, has not missed before the beginning of the season in his 22-year career.
His tally of 1,562 games played is merely 50 less than breaking former Celtics star Robert Parish's all-time record.
The title winner featured in 70 of the LA Lakers' eighty-two games last term and competed in 71 matches in the previous year.
Last season, the player averaged over 24 points, 8.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds per game per game and finished sixth in the Most Valuable Player vote.
LA made it to the play-offs in the 2024-25 season but fell 4-1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round.
