Fresh particulars have surfaced about the untimely demises of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their residence home on Sunday.

The Alarm

According to a report citing a confidential source, a practitioner arriving for an session first raised the alarm after not being able to enter the house. The therapist then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.

Upon entering the house, Romy found her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Her roommate who had accompanied her contacted 911. Subsequently, first responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, including the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now detained and denied bail.

Correcting the Record

The anonymous source also disputed several initial details. They said that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the grounds, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that moment.

Additionally refuted circulated suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "concerned" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. Instead the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction also extends to accounts of reportedly "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a gathering held by Conan O'Brien on the night before the discovery. Although the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they said that claims of a "blow-up" between the two were inaccurate.

Investigation Timeline

As stated by law enforcement sources, the coroner had still not confirmed at that point whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some accounts noted the state of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the scene. He was set to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, stated his client had a medical issue and would not be present until Wednesday or later.
